Thanks for visiting!
As a 7-year-old little boy, my mother had to work. I was in charge of my siblings' care, and cooked for them and my mother. Throughout the years in the kitchen, I developed a passion for cooking.
One day, I told my mother that I wanted to become a chef. She stated that it would be impossible. The reality was that I never attended school and thus, had no formal education. I remember attending first grade. But later that year, I had to stay home and care for my siblings.
Through the years, I kept that dream in my heart.
On May 24th, 1994, I arrived in New York City with nothing more than what I was on me. I, however, came with a dream- a dream to become a chef.
There is nothing more powerful than a person with a dream and a determination to reach it.
After three years of ESL classes (i.e., English as a Second Language), and two years studying for the GED, I was ready for my dream. For the next two years, I attended the Culinary School of Long Island and in the year 2000, I finally fulfilled my dream of becoming a chef. During my internship at the Marriott Hotel's banquet department, I witnessed smiles from event guests, which brought joy and a feeling of accomplishment to my heart- I found my passion!
In June of 2004, I moved to Florida. In 2005, I was invited to cook for an event for a radio station and a month later, cook for five hundred homeless men and women.
With this passion for cooking, I discovered that I can put smiles on people's faces no matter where they came from.
My strong faith in God moved me to start cooking, not for the money, because during that timeframe, I had a good and stable job as a Forman for a sign company.
Later that year, Bjoely Catering was established in our first location in Winter Park Florida. With Bjoely Catering, my wife and I started to work in weddings and special events.
In 2010, Bjoely Catering became Bjoely Event Services. That year, I started to help brides with their bridal bouquets and center pieces. My creativity helped me become an event designer and offered my brides and their families the opportunity to have their special event in the hands of a person who will ensure every detail of their event is taken care of. A person who is not only a certified chef, but also a very detailed-oriented designer.
When you hire Bjoely, you don’t hire a company, you hire me- a person who is passionate about your dream regardless of your budget size. Your dream, in Bjoely's hands, will became a REALITY.
Why is your day so important to Bjoely? Because a wedding is a union of two families, a joyful day when guests travel to see family and friends, forget differences, and celebrate the love you have for each other.
Your event is our priority. This is the reason we only do one event per day.
This is what my brides have to say about our service:
I found BJoely because he was recommended by a friend of a friend. I gave Joel a special menu with a dish that he had never even heard of! He found a recipe for it, gave it his special touch and the food was awesome!! He really went out of his way to add his little touches to my brunch wedding reception and I'm so grateful that he was able to be a part of my day! I had shrimp and grits, quiche, chick and waffles, bacon and eggs, potatoes and everything was great!!! I would have hired him for decorating too but he had an out of country wedding right before mine so he didn't have time! I'm sure he would have been great at that too! Kudos to his serving staff as well!
